Putting Website Expectations Into Perspective

Being a web developer, I have had the honor of working on some very exciting projects. I am frequently contacted by people looking to have a website developed. Often times people don't have a concept for what I do, or what it takes to build a website. Building a website involves writing thousands of lines of code to manage complex objects. It can take several days or several months to build a website depending on how complex the project is. Clients often have unrealistic expectations of what kind of return they will get from their website. Often people have watched too much TV or read too many articles on the founders of MySpace, YouTube, or some other large website that made millions. They come to me thinking they can do it too. 86% of Small Business Owners Keep Pace Or Increase Ad Spend

26% plan on increasing ad spend, 60% plan on spending about the same as 2008. I wish the resources were available to do a case-study of each of these Small Business owners and the positive effect that stable or increased ad spending has on each of the businesses going forward.
