In an post called "Stocking Stuffers II", our friends at Jacobs Media remind us about the power of our property and the desire for our viewers or listeners to be "part of our family".  Not only station personnel like to wear logo merchandise, but the general public likes the "coolness" factor as well.

Noting a recent CNN promotion after the election where they sold $75,000 worth of Obama victory merchandise, it brings to mind the many popular "watercooler talk" events that create a buzz in the community that could benefit your properties bottom line with merchandise taking advantage of the occasion.

Is it T-shirts? Hats? Keychains? Posters? Mousepads? Lounge or Sleepwear?  The point is that the sky really is the limit to what your property can capitalize on and it's still not too late to take advantage before many more of those shopping days fly by before Christmas.  The other advantage to ramping up your website to sell merchandise is the fact that it can become a year-round profit center.

Look around, what would your viewers or listeners like to wear from your station?Related Categories
