Auto Dealers Focus Online

Oct 9, 2008 by Mark Maier

In a new survey by Autobytel reported in MediaPost, 56% of Auto Dealers are seeing lower sales while domestic dealers are seeing heavier decreases. Their focus is now Online.
"The firm also says that 77% of dealers are refocusing on follow-up processes/lead conversion, while 69% report increasing their focus on Internet marketing, or making it a larger part of their overall marketing spend.

In fact, Autobytel says half of the dealers surveyed opined that follow-up and lead conversion will be more important than used vehicle or service departments in the current economic bog. Per the survey, 91% of dealers are either increasing or maintaining their Internet marketing spend, despite tighter budgets."

Castanet in Kelowna, British Columbia decided to instigate an Automall to help their dealers and forge a continuing bond between their community web portal, Castanet.net, and integration of the automall into it.  Radio stations have adopted the partnership with Auto Dealers like at centraloregonautomall.com in Bend, Oregon where Horizon Broadcasting is working with several dealers at growing their business.  Atlanta's j9333automall is getting set to launch under the same business plan built around driving traffic from our media properties to an online property where consumers are shopping and researching. Are you prepated to offer online solutions to your clients?
