Link Your Audience To Your Wedding Industry Clients

Mar 29, 2009 by Mark Maier

An article about "JC Penney Inks Deal With Wedding Site" made for an interesting read and even more interesting thoughts on how to link your audience with those in the industry....

"A spokesperson says that JC Penney had a similar relationship with TheWeddingChannel.com. She says the new arrangement with OurWeddingDay.com is a three-way deal with David's Bridal -- a brand prominent in JC Penney's wedding portfolio. "David's Bridal partnered with them a year ago. We were blown away by what [the Web site] offered."

She says the wedding registry business is recession proof -- people are going to get married no matter what. "The difference is more people are trying to look at their budgets; we are well-positioned for that because we are a department store -- we have lots of items at affordable prices. We might even get more customers who used to go to specialty stores."

The company wants engaged couples to see the store as a one-stop shop with everything from engagement and wedding rings and gowns to photo studios, and luggage for the honeymoon. "It's a very key business for us in terms of home products, and this is the season -- we are seeing lots of pickup in business."

So why not make this a multi-client endeavor and help your clients gain market share?  It may be as simple as looking at the offerings of Online services and tailoring them for your individual market.  To make it easy, tangible, and acceptable to the prime audience, it has to have an online presence. That Online presence from your website could extend to outside web sites but if you kept it all-inclusive to your site with a shopping cart feature you could stand to make a better business model.  Building a robust site with all the offerings is all about getting the right businesses with the right offers together in one place that makes it simple for brides and grooms to plan their big day.  You could host virtual fashion shows, virtual jewelry gallaries, virtual vacation previews, virtual gift registry, virtual wedding web sites and photo galleries and more.  The offerings you can put together with your clients are only limited by your imagination and your programmers ability.

But what is the upside? Besides the traffic generated, what about the actual conversions that will occur on an all-inclusive site?  You have an opportunity to provide a solution to your clients and your audience, its a win-win-win.
